Stereolithography is a fast-track prototyping technique, used to manufacture solid objects from a digital model. The object is made by superimposing fine layers of resin, polymerised using a laser.

For collimators intended for public lighting, the aim was fast verification of the overall dimensions of the component, the external design and its positioning on the PCB.

Stereolithography was used to conduct a preliminary project in order to gather opinions and possible requests for modifications. This saved valuable time in both technical and economic terms.

Following optimisation by our engineering office, we produced a stereolithograph to test assembly with the existing collimators and positioning on the PCB. Since parting line adjustments were complex, this technique made it possible to check clipping to the collimator in actual conditions.
